Zygi is the most famous fish producing area in Cyprus. Zygi has many professional fishermen and also many amateurs. The major quantities of fish are absorbed by the local fish taverns, and the remainder is sold to the market.
There are about fifteen fish taverns which operate both day and night on weekdays and weekends. One can enjoy fresh fish straight from the fishing boat.
Zygi and Maroni during the past few years has been recognized as a tourist and recreational destination for thousands of visitors who want to escape from the pressure and stress of urban life, to the relaxed atmosphere close to the sea and natural environment of the area.
